  1. Meet with Volunteer Coordinator/Supervisor or staff member who made the request for a visitor.
  2. Will be introduced to resident by volunteer coordinator/recreation staff.
  3. Visit with resident to discover interests, hobbies and social history.
  4. Communicate with recreation programmer/Villa staff to find out resident's interest with hopes that the resident can become more involved in activities.
  5. Try to visit resident on a regular basis.
  6. Escort resident to Tuck Shop, walking outside (weather permitting), read to resident and/or accompany resident to special events as appropriate.
  7. Check with nursing staff before taking resident off the floor and sign resident out in the sign-out book provided on each floor if you are taking resident off of home area.
  8. Check with nursing staff before giving edibles to resident to obtain dietary restrictions.
  9. Communicate any concerns to Volunteer Coordinator/Supervisor or staff member in charge.
  10. Wear ID badge and apron while on duty.
  11. Encouraged to attend volunteer development and celebrations.

Dates and Times

* Flexible variety of times.
* Once per week for minimum of 2 hours or when arranged between you and resident.
