The Museum Docent/Tour Guide role will have the primary responsibility of providing guided tours of the Erland Lee (Museum) Home to visitors. This will include greeting visitors, collecting admission fees, talking about the history of the property, mentioning items within the house that belonged to the Lee family, talking about the important role that Erland Lee played in the formation of the Women's Institute, taking visitors to the adjacent Carriage House and more.
Other duties (during times when tours are not happening), may include: gardening, light housekeeping, gift shop help, etc.
If you are interested in history and early life in the Stoney Creek area, or simply want to learn more about the past of your community, this role may interest you. It will allow you the opportunity to work with other like minded individuals in a heritage setting, and also learn about the role played by Erland and Janet Lee in the formation of the Women's Institute Organization.
All necessary training will be provided and a written reference letter (suitable for school or job seeking purposes), may be requested after a period of time as a reliable volunteer.
